Kerala is popularly known as "God's Own Country" and Idukki is known as "Heaven of all spices". Kerala was known for its spices and traders travelled here to trade and to gain control over this rich land. It is believed that the spice trade dates back to three thousand years. Pepper still remains the king of Kerala's spices, but the state also rich in cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and turmeric. As in the past , the state continues to be the spice capital of the world.

Mr. Varghese VC, brings into the table a wealth of discipline and knowledge with his stint in the Indian Army. Having served the nation as an Instructor (Army Education Core) in The Indian Army for 20 years, Mr. Varghese decided to settle down in his hometown of Idukki. It has been a relentless decade of hard work from Mr. Varghese and his team over the time, to bring the natural spices and allied products to a pan India and international audience. The roads traversed has been very eco friendly and farmer centric.

The dream of a ‘spice garden’ was Mr Varghese’s vision where common man can come visit and diffuse himself with nature and its natural supplies. The customers at Hindustan Spices are given the warmth and feeling of a ‘home away from home’ experience under the cradle of serene nature. Mr. Varghese’s mission is to showcase immaculate quality spice, herbal and Ayurvedic products at affordable prices to the common tourists.
